OUR STORY

We are Lindsay and Kirk Mefford, and we're the owners/operators of Madison Radon Testing, LLC. In 2014, we had our home tested for radon. What we discovered startled us. The radon level in our basement was six times higher than the E.P.A.'s action level of 4.0 pCi/L. We kept our children out of our basement for the next week until a radon mitigation system was installed. One year later, Kirk's mother was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. The combination of those two events motivated us to start Madison Radon Testing in order to help others avoid our misfortune. We strive to be the best in the business by giving our clients the service and education they deserve. 

For 15 years, Lindsay worked with her father, Tom Feiza, Mr. Fix-It, in the home inspection industry. As a graphic artist, she created thousands of technical illustrations for the How To Operate Your Home book series.

Kirk teaches chemistry and English as a Second Language at Madison West High School. For 20 years, he has taught his students about the dangers of radon gas. He's excited to now do more to protect people from radon gas.

You can find Lindsay and Kirk hanging out in Madison with their three kids and their dog, Rocky. In their free time, they’re usually driving kids around to swimming, soccer and volleyball games, and orchestra and choir concerts.
